The End of Irony

I went to the bookstore to spend part of what may be one of my final paychecks on "The Greatest Show on Earth" by Richard Dawkins, a book I've long awaited. (I'll probably post a review at some point in the distant future, available reading time being less plentiful than I'd like.)

Anyway, while there, I saw a book entitled "Arguing With Idiots". The author? Glenn Beck.

That's it. Irony is officially dead.

  1. Speaking of irony, have you checked out your ads on the right? Right now on the front page they're about finding your guardian angel, god, astrology, and jumping into the spirit world. Apparently Google's adsense program is not all it's cracked up to be.

  2. Yeah, I noticed that. Apparently, there's a way you can tweak it so certain ads will be filtered out, but A.) That seems like work and I'm lazy and B.) I find the ads perversely entertaining. I do a blog entry and I never know what kinda crazy ads will show up next.
Although I must admit finding out my Guardian Angel's horoscope just seems SO out there it's almost temptimg... :-)
